I created this animation deep in the heart of lockdown in 2021 with PositiveNegatives and the migration research hub MIDEQ. It was a really difficult brief and meaty topic plus there was the slight problem that I don’t actually know how to animate at all. I think I found a good creative solution to these problems drawing inspiration from 19th century moving books. Considering I don’t know how to animate I was pretty chuffed that it was nominated for ‘Best Animated Film’ at the Arts and Humanities Research in Film Awards – UKRI (2021). It was translated into 8 languages and featured in The Guardian getting 96,000 views.
